November is here. Goodbye Halloween, Hello Holidays. November is the month of planning for all of the upcoming events the holidays season brings. For us, it’s Christmas concerts, dance shows, volunteering and a packed Church calendar.
It’s the season to be social and get all them introverts out the house! You know who I’m talking about! Okay, it’s me. I could totally sit around all weekend watching Christmas movies, eating, drinking, and being merry, but there’s work to be done. Lots of work. So, praise the Lord for a beautiful, busy season!

When November 1st hits, I always put away the Halloween decorations. The house fells like a blank slate for cleaning, as our collection has grown large over the years. After November 1st, the girls are allowed to decorate their rooms and put their trees up.
Which surprise, usually happens right away, as they are chomping at the bit. Over the years each of my girls’ have curated their own small collection of Christmas ornaments and decor, uniquely their own. It’s packed away in their own bin and its brought up to their room to decorate when the time comes. They decorate with me or my mom, which is a very special time I cherish. The best part is seeing how they arrange the designs, and allow their creative process to come out. I have no input. So each tree is uniquely their own.
In addition to the decorations swap and cleaning, November is a wonderful time to celebrate the calm before super busy calendar. I’ve now gotten to the point of not liking added stress. You don’t know when someones going to get sick or plans have to get cancelled. So I focus on accountability to myself, and getting things done ahead of time. Here is what is on my November Home Reset List.
